Gregory Zimmerman is a partner with MacDonald, Illig, and a member of the Firm's litigation, plaintiff personal injury, and insurance practice groups. He is also a trained mediator. In 2010, Greg completed an intensive mediation training course through Pepperdine University Law School's Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution. This training has helped to expand Greg's previous experience representing clients at mediations over the past 20 years. He is an approved federal court mediator in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania, and an approved state court mediator through the Erie County Pennsylvania Bar Association.
Licensed to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New York, Greg maintains a general litigation practice that includes handling matters in the areas of commercial and contract disputes, automobile accidents, premises liability, personal injury, real estate and oil and gas disputes, and a variety of other personal injury and insurance related litigation matters. He has tried many cases to verdict, handles numerous arbitrations and mediations, and appeared in both the federal and state courts of Pennsylvania and New York.
Having handled matters for plaintiffs, defendants and insurance carriers, Greg is able to bring a unique perspective and set of skills to both his mediation services and litigation practice. His ability to work with both plaintiffs and insurance carriers and understand both sides of an issue from personal experience benefit both of those practices and his clients.
In addition to his practice, Greg serves on the board of directors for the Greater Erie Chapter of the American Red Cross and is a past chair. Since 2000, he has also served as the attorney advisor for the Fort LeBoeuf High School mock trial team, helping them to take first place in numerous competitions. He remains very active in the Erie County Bar Association, and enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children.
