Marissa Savastana Watts is a partner in the Litigation Department of MacDonald Illig. She concentrates her practice in the areas of commercial litigation, employment litigation, insurance defense litigation and medical malpractice defense litigation.
As part of her insurance defense practice, Ms. Watts has represented insurance companies and their insureds in court and in alternate dispute resolution forums such as arbitration and mediation. Ms. Watts also has extensive experience in insurance coverage disputes and policy interpretation matters.
Ms. Watts has experience representing employers faced with various employment litigation issues, including those arising under Title VII, the Pennsylvania Human Relations Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act. Ms. Watts also has experience representing employers at evidentiary hearings on claims for unemployment compensation benefits and has defended employers on appeal to the Unemployment Compensation Board of Review.
Ms. Watts is a proud alumnus of both James Madison University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Political Science, and the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law, where she obtained her Juris Doctor.
