Jennifer Brostmeyer Hirneisen was awarded the Erie County Bar Association's Pro Bono Award at the 2008 annual Law Day luncheon. The award is given each year to a private practice attorney who has made a significant commitment to pro bono representation of low-income clients with civil cases in Erie County. Attorney Hirneisen provided 110 hours of free legal service to low-income clients in Erie County in 2007. She devoted the majority of her hours to a foreclosure action in which she negotiated a settlement that permitted her client to remain in a home at a reduced interest rate.
