Delaware River Basin Commission Released Its Long Awaited Draft Natural Gas Development

The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) today (Dec. 9) released its long awaited Draft Natural Gas Development Regulations for review and public comment. These new regulations were spurred by the potential for Marcellus Shale drilling projects in the Delaware River Basin. The DRBC regulates activities in the Basin which includes portions of Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey and Delaware. However, other government regulators have in the past looked to the DRBC regulations for guidance in their own environmental programs so these new regulations should be of interest to parties in outside the Basin, including operators in Western and Central Pennsylvania. A copy of the draft regulations and information on the public comment process can be found on the DRBC website at this link.
