Marcellus Shale Advisory Commission Issues Final Report

On July 22, the Marcellus Shale Advisory Commission, a 30-member commission established by Governor Corbett to offer recommendations on natural gas drilling in Pennsylvania, issued its Final Report. The Report contains 96 policy recommendations on diverse issues including environmental concerns, infrastructure impacts and economic and tax policy. The recommendations include stronger regulation of drilling activities. If implemented, the recommendations will have significant impact on those involved in oil and gas production in Pennsylvania, even those producers not directly involved in the Marcellus Shale play.
