What if my spouse does not consent to the divorce?
If your spouse does not consent, you may still obtain a divorce, but generally, you will have to appear in front of a Divorce Hearing Officer. The Divorce Hearing Officer is appointed by the Court to deal with the economic issues and to make a recommendation as to the distribution of marital property.
