Bio

Julia uses her skills as an attorney and knowledge of environmental science to assist her clients with a variety of environmental issues.  Julia’s attention to detail, tenacity, creativity, and good nature allows her to effectively find solutions for her clients.

Julia focuses her practice on all areas of environmental law, and she is a member of the firm’s Environmental Group. Prior to joining MacDonald Illig, Julia clerked for the Vermont Superior Court in St. Johnsbury, VT, and worked at a law firm in Burlington, VT, where she practiced professional liability defense. She also volunteered at Legal Services Vermont’s Rent Escrow Clinic and Family Law Clinic.

Julia received her B.S. in environmental science from Penn State Behrend in 2019, where she also served as editor-in-chief of the Behrend Beacon and was an undergraduate researcher in environmental science. Her interest in environmental law took her to Vermont Law School, where she graduated with her J.D. in 2022. During law school, Julia excelled in her legal writing classes and as a student clinician in the Vermont Law School Environmental Advocacy Clinic.  Julia also received her master’s degree in environmental policy from the University of Cambridge, in Cambridge, England, in 2022.

In addition to her legal practice, Julia is committed to supporting the Erie community. Her favorite place in Erie is Presque Isle State Park, and she enjoys experiencing all Erie has to offer.
