What is a residuary clause in a Will?

After you have given direction regarding specific assets to be distributed to specific individuals or charities, whatever is left, after payment of your debts, administration expenses, and taxes, is the residue of your estate. The residue can be distributed to one or more individuals or charities in shares or percentages. This is the "catch-all" provision to distribute your property after more specified distributions are made.
