How do I add someone to my deed?

If you would like to add an owner to your property, you can execute and record a new deed conveying the property from you to you and the other person. However, if you have a mortgage on the property, that would be considered a “transfer” and it may be prohibited by your mortgage. If that is the case, you will need to work with your lender before transferring any interest in the property.
