Brian K. Cressman Associate
Brian Cressman is an Associate at MacDonald Illig and a member of the Business Transactions, Government Services, and Education Law Practice Groups. His practice focuses on a range of areas including business transactions, general business contract work, education law, real estate transactions, estate planning, and litigation support.
As a member of the Business Transactions Group, Mr. Cressman counsels both for-profit and non-profit clients on a variety of matters. Mr. Cressman has experience advising clients along the full spectrum of entity existence, from creation to dissolution, and all steps in between. He routinely advises clients on contract matters, including contracts for purchase or sale, employment agreements, and standard terms and conditions.
As a member of the Education Law Practice Group, Mr. Cressman has experience handling a wide variety of issues that routinely face a school district. Mr. Cressman has knowledge of the laws, regulations, and Constitutional provisions governing a school district. Mr. Cressman has drafted a variety of agreements for school districts, as well as opinion letters and memos on a variety of statutory, policy, bargaining agreement, and Constitutional issues. He has experienced handling a number of employment related issues related to both bargaining unit members and non-bargaining unit employees, including EEOC matters. He also has extensive experience drafting, interpreting, and applying school board policies.
Mr. Cressman received his Bachelor's Degree in Economics from the Pennsylvania State University, and his Juris Doctor from the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law. While in law school, Mr. Cressman served as a Judicial Extern for the Hon. William I. Arbuckle, III, United States Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, interned with the General Counsel of a bank holding company, was Student-Faculty Liaison for the Student Bar Association, and mock trial coach. Mr. Cressman was also an Associate Editor for the Yearbook on Arbitration and Mediation and a research assistant for Professor Louis F. Del Deca, and in serving in each capacity published scholarly articles.
